Fun in the Sun

This past weekend Michael, Allie, and myself headed to Fernandina Beach, FL for a mini vacation with my parents and brother Forrest. We had such a good time. Allie did wonderfully on the way there and back in the carseat, which was a miracle! I think she is finally starting to handle the carseat a lot better, and I am glad because my nerves cannot handle her getting really upset. Allie's favorite times at the beach were waking up in the morning, because she realized that there were extra people around and she just loved playing in the morning, especially with her Pa's hat! It was really windy this weekend so we couldn't get her out on the beach too much. The poor thing could hardly keep her eyes open for the wind! Her daddy put her feet in the water and she actually liked it! Of course my camera's batteries died the one time she went out on the beach and actually enjoyed herself. I don't know why it always seems to happen that way. She wasn't too sure about her uncle Forrest this weekend, until he sang her Amazing Grace. He has such a beautiful singing voice and Allie just melted when he started singing to her. She would be crying and Forrest would sing to her and she immediately started smiling and just stared at him the whole time he was singing. That was just precious. So if there are any single young ladies out there, Forrest is handsome, sweet, and available!! We had a great visit with my parents and it was an extra treat to get to spend time with Forrest. I treasure every minute I get to spend with my family!
